The Holy Empire of Hyradia is a huge, environmentally stunning nation, remarkable for its punitive income tax rates. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising fourteen-year-old boys selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

UFO sightings are listed daily in the morning news, teenagers are sent to jail for being out too late, popular political cartoonists are thrown in jail for inciting dissent, and Hyradia's airwaves are dominated by corporate-backed commercial radio. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Hyradia's national animal is the hamster, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the hyradi.
